r1 turbo injectors clogged
my bike has been acting weird lately.
it started with a light surge at low throttle openings at 4 thou.then developed a flat spot in the same place.then it started to cut out at idle or tic over very slow.a few turns on the idle screw cured this. then it got worse and the only way it will idle is with hand on throttle holding it a bit open or the idle screw all the way in.i have swaped the map sensor and all the vac lines are ok. the pc 111 and ignition module is disconected and i have checked the fuel pump and filter...all seems ok.the reason i suspect the injectors is cos when the bike idles and i apply boost to the fmu the fuel pressure in the fuel rail rises but has no effect on idle.this would normally cause massive richness an stall the engine.??. i have also ran a full diagnostic and it shows no faults or error codes.anyone got any ideas or had similar probs with injectors.are injectors prone to failiure when useing an fmu..any help or info welcome...

turbo snail. wtf!!! you have no luck. remove your injectors and look into the top of the fuel injector screen. you will clearly see the screen clogged. i had this problem on a tl1000r. the fuel pump filter carbon beads broke away and traveled through the fuel line and into the top of the injectors. i had to replace the fuel line and filter. i removed the injectors and cleaned them.

busa 4..your a super star...i have had this isue up on four different forums and your the only guy who has confirmed my suspicion that the injectors are at fault. i am going to pull the injectors now.probably get an ultrasonic clean .just to be safe ..the new filter and lines are ordered...cheers buddy ,let me buy you a beer some time...lol...

in the manual there should be a fuel volume test spec. the volume should be times when you put the key in the on position and the pump runs for ~ 3seconds. disconnect the fuel line at the rail and put the line in a beaker or other measureing devise. turn the ignition key on. you will hear the pump run for ~3 seconds. as the pump is running the fuel is flowing into the beaker. after the three seconds measure the amount of fuel in the beaker. this should be close to the manufacturers specification of fuel flow volume. if its not close then you have a clogged filter or a failing pump. another point i should make is that as pressure increases fuel volume decreases.

its an external 6 bar pump ,bosch 044 copy,..i have been running the filter after the pump but before the fuel rail for about 18 months which may have caused its failiure.i have decided to do a complete overhaul of the fuel system ,,putting the filter before the pump.re arrange the return setup ..new pump..filter..new lines..this should sort it
