Im thinkin about buying a 14b turbo from another board.
He says its a 97 gst fresh rebuild with a 16g comp wheel. Im wondering what the benefit is of the 16g wheel. Thanks in advance!!Please help im ready to buy this thing and get boostin

14b's came from 90-94 dsm 5 speeds

16g compressor wheel without the compressor housing? why?

 

You can't swap in the wheel without the housing plus machine work must be done to make it work.

Yeah im not sure if he even knows what hes got. He said he swapped out hid t25 for this one because they hold boost longer. Probably rebuilt with 16g parts im guessing. Any way i can tell when i go to look at? Thanks for the replies!!

 

If there are 6 big compressor blades it's a 16g. If there are more smaller ones it's a 14b or something else.
