Questions on Turboing my D16Z6

Ok I have decided to turbo my car, a 93 Honda Civic Ex with the D16Z6 motor in it. It has about 160k on it. What should I do to make sure my engine dosent blow? I can get a newer block and crank with p2p internals pretty cheap.

p2p = d16y8
d16z6 = crank and block with d16y8 pistons and rods.

Is that a good set up? Then I could just rebuild the head and put on a new headgasket set and I would be good to go right? Any tips or trick here? I have axcess to a machine shop, my Dad builds racing engines for a living but he hast done many turbo honda engines. Thanks.

If your dad builds engines and you can get all the machine work for free. than I wouldn't ---- around with stock parts, spend the money now and just get Eagle rods and forged pistons. It may be a little more expensive now but you'll make some nice power without worrying about blowing your motor.

Just my advice read this https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=27914 these SOHC humpers know a little more about D-series imbreeding than I've ever cared to know.

yes they do.

-on the topic...read the top thread on this board...noob's look here thread. you can safely boost that motor with 6-8psi and ive seen as much as 12psi on stock internals, perfectly tuned. just seach the web site man, get confused, then ask questions. i would leave fuel managment last because its the most confusing to me anyways... :P
read all the faq, and all of that good ----, and then ask questions. we are here to help in anyway, but many questions have been anwsered many many times here.

dont bother replacing stock internals with other stock ----...just boost it the way it is or build it right
