Default questions for all you that made your own log style manifold

exactly how hard is it to make a decent manifold using the " 2 t's and 2 90deg elbows" method? from what i've seen it looks fairly simple. however people have said that it will hard/nearly impossible for someone with little fabricating experience. so lay it one me.. how hard is it exactly?

just make sure when u cut the pieces u cut em the right lenght's..

and if you know how to weld i am sure u are fine at making it..

Make sure you "tack" everything in place before you fully weld it that way if something dosen't line-up properly you can just break it off. Here is an article that I made mine from:
http://www.sdsefi.com/techheader.htm

And this is the result:

I know most people dont have them, but if you have access to a lathe, you can use a part-off tool and cut the tee's realy nicely and you can take of as little or as much as you want.

I built my whole setup with a portaband, chopsaw, torch and mig welder. By far the hardest was making the flanges.

YES. This is what I need to do. I've been looking for a mani that would fit my particular application, but making one would be even better. I can't weld, but I have a friend that does and I think I could learn enough to get it done if need be. I know where I can get the flanges, but what is a good place to get the Ts and Elbows?

hey watch out when your welding on flanges. dont weld to much at a time.. keep it cool.

i put mine in sand when it was done to prevent warpage.

but u can mount the flange on the head then weld the pipes on. thatll prevent warping also.
