Default questions about block posting

i asked these questions in another thread but got no replies, so im going to ask em again here.

how much power can the engine take after posting (assuming that there is proper tuning)? how does it compare with close decked sleeves like Darton? and finally, would it be feasible as a DIY project (would probably have to research for suitable materials)?

Theirs probably only a handful of people running posted/pinned setups on Hondas. Larry widmer (theoldone) is the one who brang this to the import scene. Basically it was used in Nascar.

How much can it support properly tunned? Larry claims he drives his d16z6 w/ stock sleeves running 20-25psi sounds crazy eh? well I'm about to test the integrity of my sleeves on my ZC as well. I've had boost around 14psi, with no problems..

Ask him yourself..

thanks for the quick response.

i have a d16y8 and was told that the stock sleeves won't hold anything more than 200 whp, but now that your saying up to 25 psi is possible on stock sleeves. Also, the fact that your able to run 14 psi is really reassuring. this technique becomes more and more interesting by the minute. i will surely try to get in touch with larry about this.

how much $$$$ does it cost usually to send a block off to endyn to have posting done to an a6 block, shipping and all?

i started the original thread of that...i wish i would have followed through oh that. i finally got to see one in person down in detroit. it looks sweet seeing those posts in there. it's a good alternative to blockguard and you don't have near the overheating problems.

ok, this is for all the guys that are interested in using this technique. i've decided to compile all the information i've researched in this post.

There are a total of 12 posts, 8 on the intake side and 4 on the exhaust side. Find posts that are made of alumium, perferably the same type as the block (i have yet to find this out). Diameter of the posts are approx. 3/8". Machine the posts so that they are perfectly flat on the side where they are in contact with the cylinder sleeves. Drill and tap holes on the side of the block. On earlier D series like those on the CRXs, the first set of holes on the intake side are 1.375" from the deck, the second set are 2.75" from the deck. on the exhaust side, they are 2.0" from the deck (i dont know where they are placed on newer D series like the D16z6 or y8, if anyone can shed some light on this that'll be great). The posts are torqued down to approx. 1 INCH lb. and sealed in with Devcon Liquid Aluminum, but i suppose JB weld will work too.

people so when u do posting then u have to get rezised pistons(bigger ones??)cant use the 81mmon a b series tha is............
