QUESTION, getting ready to buy STEALTHMODE oil line kit.....

ok, so heres the deal ... i want to but the steathmode oil line kit like right now, .. my setup is a d15b7 and a 14b...

i want to know if im going to need to order a restrictor valve with it... do u guys think that i will be getting too much oil pressure to the turbo????

i want to do it right instead of finding out too late that the pressure is too high and having blown seals..... how do u check the amount of pressure thats actual getting to your turbo, instead of checking the whole motors oil pressure????

ok , but then why do i see so many post on here about people having too much oil pressure and blowing oil out their turbos, but when using a valve their problem gets better????

not trying to challenge your inteligence, just wondering thats all....

if you use rubber lines that are big, you'll end up blowing your seals cause of the pressure of the oil going through the bigger hose. if you use the -4an hose that comes with stealthmodes' kit, the oil pressure gets reduced cause of the small diameter of the hose that comes in the kit. i bought a -4an steel braided hose which is the same diameter that comes with a greedy kit btw and i've had no problems, and i'm running an old 87' 300z turbo. for 4 months now.

now, i just want to know .... when people use an oil pressure gauge that measures the engine oil pressure .... how are you guys measuring the oil presure that your getting to the turbo?

whick one is more importand on a turbo motor, watching the overall oil press, or the press your getting to the turbo?

its the same if you take it from the point on the back of the block where the stock pressure sensor is and T it to a guage, at least on a honda.

Stealth, if you are reading this, why do you use -4an instead of -3an lines?

You might need an oil restrictor, read my post :-\

I have an inline oil pressure gauge with oil restrictors. when I had the twin turbo kit on there I had 2 gauges and 2 restrictors and it looked pretty cool. Here's a pic you can see it in the upper right corner:

A restrictor is usually needed cause people use turbos with seals that are shot and just want it to stop smoking. Its kinda like a band aid. And also, your oil pressure for your motor is more important than to the turbo. Turbos are usually cheaper than motors. (unless your running a D-series cause I buy D-series longblocks cheaper than I can get turbos :-\)

Re:QUESTION, getting ready to buy STEALTHMODE oil line kit.....

so you have an inline restrictor(engine side) followed by T conector, sending the oil to the oil press. sensor and turbo??

the t is obviously post restrictor???

and you say that i dont need a restrictor??? y do you use one??? not trying to be a smartass at all .....

and even if i dont" need"one, is it a precausion to have one????

even though this is hmt im the kind of guy that will spend 12 extra bucks to keep parts of my setup lasting longer .. know what i mean?!?!

Now if i could only get Tuner Toys to pick up their damn phone i could order this ----!!!

I run one just for precaution and I have an oil pressure gauge right after it so I can adjust it. Not the best pic but you can see it near the bottom.
