Re: open turbo/ and final questions.
^^^Ha, yes do tune it. Less back pressure/resistance on TURBO cars is better. A little different than open headers on a N/A. I don't fully understand either man, just what I have been told.

Re: open turbo/ and final questions.
take pics while u do your ----, n as far as oil goes, i always used 10w 30 oil, you use probably about 4.5 quarts, jus do 4 quarts start the car let it idle for a while to get oil everywhere n through the lines then check it after that, if its low add a bit, if its fine then leave it.

Re: progress report
i can't take pics cause i don't have a camera.
i wound up sawin off the exhaust after the cat w/ a hacksaw, i wasn't dealing w/ those bolts anymore.
so far i drained oil and got some on the driveway.
removed a/c - easy as hell.
removed exhaust manifold/cat (y7)
installed oil and boost gauges, real ghetto, the lights arn't hooked up and they are basically hanging out of my dash
bolted manifold / turbo / wastegate all together then bolted that to the block
- had to saw off part of the rad fan housing cause it was in the way of the compressor inlet.
tomorrow i have to :
-install fmu (you know you've all been there befor, ill have real management when i get more dough)
-drill oil pan
-tap the block for oil feed. i really don't know how the ---- i'm going to do this i'm really not looking forward to it. i was gonna do it first thing to day, then start my car to purge the line but i looked under the car and i can't see ----,. i can see/feel the oil filter but not the sensor. anyone know wtf it is on a y7 block? i feel something above the oil filter but theres a sensor plug on it. does the stock oil press sendor have a sensor attatched to it that you have to take off to unbolt it?
i also fear that i'm gonna have a big exhaust leak at the head flange. the gasket is loose in some spots and with the bolts tight, i can still wiggle it on some areas. . my turbo also has shaft play, more then it should i think. i clocked it a few times and fuked it up even more, i wonder if it'll even boost.
ahwell.
