Default question

i have to drive to my welder after i install my turbo to weld my d/p is it cool if i drove 15 miles open turbo.

edit

tomorrow i'm puttin my turbo on but theres just like 2 questions i have which are pretty basic, i got a few quarts of 10w30 oil that i never used w/ my tranny swap, is that ok motor oil for turbo? i live in ct too so its gonna get cold. also, how much oil should i add after i drain the pan and everything, like how much total quarts cause i know it has to fill the turbo/return/and feed lines. .

Hard boosting on 10psi on that z6? That's loud isn't it. LOL. Gets higher and higher pitched as you go up in the gears. I drove 1 mile there, 1 mile back, and 1 mile back again. Only boosted like 4psi, but still. I think you run alot leaner so just don't crazy boost or boost at all really. My opinion based on others when I asked this before.

It would = less resistance which would = more power = not on the same tuning. This is what I was told. Just as you gain whp from open DP from full exhaust. You don't run the same map do you? No.

You would know before I would. I wanted an exhaust cut-out to run open DP or just run open turbo for the track. I was told it wasn't too safe by my tuner and another tuner. That's my source of information.

well when i took off my 2.5in no cat dp back exhaust to a stock muffler and ran open elbow off the turbo, it was slower than when i had the exhaust on...so i dunno...but for making it leaner - i still dont understand.

and no less back pressure doesnt mean more horsepower....u do need a certain amount of backpressure to operate
