Re:pvc pipe?
I used APC the thick black piping. Went from the compressor to the intake, I even used crappy rubber couplers. It worked, not really well though, because when the compressor got hot the rubber couplers would give. I ended bringing my setup to a guy to do proper piping, you should of seen his face when he saw my setup. Serously, APC with good silicone couplers will work very well.

Re:pvc pipe?
Thats what temp its rated at. Not it's melting point. Pvc is used only for drains. Hot water comes in through copper pipes. And I would guess that it is rated at 300psi because it carries alot of weight. Just to let you know we used a pvc bend right off of the compressor and it just gets real soft and gets smashed by the hose clamp then it pops off every 2 miles. then it eventually get so small that it won't go back on.

I have ran black ABS pipe for 6 months on my car.
I did not use it in the engine bay. Just in the bumper for the intercooler. I got some aluminum sections from the junkyard for that. I had one peice under the hood(right off the compessor) and only about 6". It deformed, but didn't even come close to melting.
It isn't the greatest ---- to run, but I was in a bind.
