PVC boost pipes
what's the take on this? will it last for a couple months for testing purposes? think the little elbows and the special glue will hold about 15psi?

I mean, if they work, then why not? They are cheap, easy to work with, and light weight... |
Re: PVC boost pipes
alot of people have hooked them directly up to the outlet on the compressor
personally, if i was to do it, i'd use a radiator hose from the outlet, then clamp it to the pvc and go from there |
Re: PVC boost pipes
I've done it, Works fine, but I do suggest running a steel or aluminum pipe anywhere near the turbo. I use 1 4" peice on the oulet and it deformed by the end of the season. The rest was all behind the bumper and I worked fine. Try to find the nice large radius bends instead of the tight 90deg. They will flow MUCH better.

Re: PVC boost pipes
god, that ---- ------- blows ::) you got to find some strong ass glue or jb weld it for 15psi!, mine blew off ever 5 mins at 6psi

Re: PVC boost pipes
Most people do not do it because it looks like ass. How long it lasts is often a function of the turbo you're running. I usually go and spank every turbo setup I do for at least a few minutes and I've found that even the home depot rubber connectors will melt if on the turbo outlet.

Re: PVC boost pipes
I had charge pipes duct taped together for a while :-X Held 10 psi all day long O0

Re: PVC boost pipes
I should say not PVC but the Black ABS piping. Just use the proper contact cement that is intended for it and it will out last any hose clamp and coupler.
Doesn't look like ass either. It's all black, paint chips don't matter on your flat black steel pipes and it won't corrode for YEARS! |
Re: PVC boost pipes
Or you can just use soft piping from Home Depot or Lowe's, with hose clamps.
