Default psi question for conversion on 91 laser rs.

were about done with the laser now and my friend and i are disagreeing on what to run the boost at, he said nothing above 9 psi cuz of the pistons but i said it would be fne to go 10-12. were doing this with all stock dsm parts and a t25 turbo.

does anyone know for sure?

just curious... what fuel management are you running?

when i finally get arround to turboing my domestic. im gonna start at 6 psi, and slowly up the boost cause i dont plan on replacing the engine anytime soon.

so start off slow and see how the car takes it.

now where are those pictures of ur ex u promised?

no offense, but that's bad advice. If you slowly raise the boost, eventually its gonna blow up. The engine is not going to tell you ahead of time that it can't handle the power, it's just gonna let go.

Ideally, try to find someone with the same engine/turbo and see how theirs is holding up.

if its a 1st gen 4g63 then it can handle 10-12 psi of boost cuz the stock turbo 4g63 is set at that....but if its not the 4g63 then i dont know man....

we are talking about the 4g63 unless the car isn't a rs. 10 is about how high you want to go. but why did you take the time to drop in 1g rods/2g pistons so that you could boost the ---- out of it

+1. It's not the psi that is going to blow the engine, it's the torque the engine makes at a certain psi. Pay attention to what SloS13 stated above.

it is the 4g63 motor, so just get the pistons from the turbo 2 gen? i think the pistons is the only difference between the two engines beside the turbo. we used the dsm 450 cc injectors and the turbo ecs, and the turbo wiring harness. was a lil bitch 2 do though.
