problem with sleathmode 450cc injectors

hello

I was putting them on my 96 dx obd2 turbo civic and those sleathmode injectors wouldn't start my car unless you push the gas ,but if you let go the gas the engine will cut off. also I checked the resistance on those sleathmode injectors it is the same as my stock injectors ,which is 11.5 ohms. I also did wired up the clips. well I have no luck with those injectors and Please leave me some suggestion.

thanks for looking.

you do have something controlling them right? like an afc or uberdata or something

Haha, I'm interested in knowing what your using to control those injectors? If your just running the stock OBD2 ecu with no piggyback or anything, your running waaaay too much fuel and that would be your reason for it not running right. You need something to scale those 450's down.

well I thought in the sleathmode injectors page said that it's going to run fine with stock fuel system

best cheap option: swap to obd1 and use uberdata

The man said it himself. ;) You might need a new set of plugs now too, but no big deal.

It just wouldn't be fun if fuel management was that easy. Go read in the Engine management forum's FAQ and you'll see the options you have for fuel management

Re: problem with sleathmode 450cc injectors

Fuel management is the problem, if you are running the CorrectInject450s with only the stock management. In addition to the Uberdata solution, you can use an SMC from ZipTech for around $119. We are using one of those on our daily driver, and it has done great for over a year now. BTW it's a non-boosted car, running CorrectInject450s, using the SMC to pinch them back to stock levels.

i was issued the first set of correct inject 550s from craig a long time ago, 2 cars later and about a ---- ton of miles, they are awesome... the injectors are not the problem here its user error,

craig thanks again for the injectors

HotSex,

We just added 660s to the product line up, so we are ready for you when you move up again.

hello
I have a question about the injectors, so I just have to buy a SMC to make the 450cc correctinjectors to work and nothing else right?

Re: problem with sleathmode 450cc injectors

That's about it. We are running a 89 Rex Si (D16A6) with everything stock. Stock Fuel Pump, lines, etc. No Boost, no turbo, no nothing. We have added the CorrectInject 450s to it, and the SMC500 running at -50% across the RPM range. The car runs like stock. We will continue to run it this way until we boost it, at which time we'll adjust the SMC for less and less correction as the boost builds up, allowing the 450s to open up and supply the needed extra fuel for boost.

You can get them here...

Re: problem with sleathmode 450cc injectors

since you can add/subtract fuel at rpm levels does this mean you could use this as fuel management instead of afc or uber? or is this the same as a afc?

Re: problem with sleathmode 450cc injectors

looks to be a less fancy version of the safc... I'd never seen those, but they look pretty nice... you should be able to run that just fine.
