Default Problem with Downpipe, the welder wont touch it

I went to the local muffler shop and the welder wont touch the manifold because he scared he will be liable if it breaks. Does this happen often? Is there anyway to make a bolt-on down pipe off a greddy manifold?

Sounds like he just doesn't want to work on your car. I am not suprised I used to get the run around like that all the time also.

lots of "muffler" shops dont like getting involved in custom stuff, just try to find another.
