Default Pretty Legitimate, but flawed logic...

FIRST OFF... I AM NOT BUYING THIS KIT... but im am boosting a 2.2 twin cam 92 celica, so i was checkin out what they had as reference... This is a turbo kit that is sold for my car assembled by Burien Toyota in WAshington. So0 its coming from a "legit" company.. not just a few poeple throwing it 2gether in their garage.. if you look at whats included in the kit it shows what it comes with... It comes with new injectors, but no0o management what so ever.. NOt even a shitty excuse for engine management aka FMU.... (Not to be used with the larger injectors, i know) but yeah.. no form of AFC hacking, no ECU mods (obviously) or anything. So I was wondering how they can claim to run a STABLE turbo set up.... It does come with a new MAP sensor, but i dont think that solves the problem at all.. just prolly to keep the CEL off.. Anyways, i E-mailed them, and they say that they have sold a few hundred of the kits, and no one has reported a wrecked engine. They claim it can support up to 10 PSI very reliable.. with NO management?? WTF?.. and i also might add the C/R for these 5sfe engines are 9.5 : 1..... not extremely boostable on an UN-INTERCOOLED setup. Anyways... I just need some feedback on what you guys think.. Thanks.. BE SURE TO READ INFO FROM THE LINK I POSTED(below) BEFORE COMMENTING BACK.. THANKS..

Dan

If the car was set up to learn boost and create its own fuel curve, then i would be driving a spaceship. There would also be no reason for the map sensor if boost was "OKAY" by the EcU.......

I was convienced after I read this part

You now have a sports car capable of running with most of today’s sports cars costing $30,000 to $40,000, and it was done at a fraction of that price.

Priced at $2500.00

The included MAP could make it idle with the big injectors and who knows, maybe handles boost. Depends on the maps stored in the ECU. DUnno why there would be positive-pressure ---- in the stock ECU..doubt it.

Here's what you do.

The 310 limetops will idle perfectly with the 2bar map sensor. It's one of those weird toyota things

You'll run a tiny bit lean up top, but you shouldn't have any problem if you use an MSD BTM. Run the CT26, downpipe, exhaust manifold. Get an intercooler, clock the turbo, run the piping. After that, you're clear for about 8 psi. Runs like stock except it's a tiny bit sketch at part throttle.

If you want to adjust it more, do what I did. Same thing, but add 450's, and safc and an adjustable fpr. I use an Aeromotive piece, very nice.

Good luck.

i havent researched the size of my injectors. everything else though... are they 310cc in the 5sfe 2.2L engines?? and whats 2bar map sensor? the one that comes iwht the kit?

but yea i was plannin to run a T3 because im buying this saab 900 T this weekend and it comes with a T3. PLannin on using the oil lines, some of the charge piping and that tiny intercooler(temporarily). Unless you can tell me some major advantages to the CT26.
