Prefab oil feed/return kit, or DIY?

Which way do you guys usually go? Do you just buy a prefabbed kit for 80US, or do you just assemble your own? I can't figure out which will be cheaper without skimping on quality, since I want to do it right the first time.

Well, to do it right, I would suggest buying one from Stealthmode, but if you want to do it cheap, go to Homeboy Depot and start piecing that ---- together. You will still need the block fitting though. :-\ I think the kit is worth every penny.

i agree. you can get the 1/8 bspt to npt adapter from mcmaster carr for 5.99 and the tranny cooler hose from autzone for 15 bucks. itll cost you 30 tops to do it yourself, i did, but i found myself out buying a stealthmode kit very shortly after i melted the hose and cooked a turbo. imho stealths kit is the only way to go.

I used brake line alot and it works really good. There's no chance of it melting and it costs under $10.00 for both the feed and return. However, I just bought my first Stealthmode oil line kit the other day so I'm waiting to see if it lives up to its reputation

If you got the time and patience you should piece it together...but it's just alot easier to pick up one of stealth's. I did and it looks good.

I used a -3 goodridge brake lines along with tuner toys fitting then got a stealthmode drain line didn't even use teflon tape not a leak. The Stealthmode drain line is worth every cent.

I using predab with brass fittings, tranny cooler hose and some brakeline to keep the hose away from the turbo. Used a little bit of JB weld and had no probs

Thanks for the comments guys. I would say if your going to make your own lines, the most problems will be found at the block fitting and the drain flange. If you buy these two things from Tuner Toys, the rest should be pretty easy. -Steve

I guess that would depend on your budget, knowledge, and overall class of ghetto that the car fits in.

If I were rich I would buy the stealthmode kit and pay someone to install it.. then again if I was rich I wouldn't even be turboing a honda (something more exotic maybe).

Brake lines can be a real ----------er; like the 30 feet (combined total) I have running to the transmission/oil coolers on the truck. May not be as bad for just running to a turbo, but it's your call

I've done both.. and both work just fine. Stealths kit is bling blinging, and you would never have to worry. I'm old fashon and do ---- with barb'd fittings, hose clamps and high pressure line. Not once has it ever failed me.

mine failed me last night. I tightened the clamp too much and it must of cut the line. I've never seen so much smoke in my life. I thought I was on fire. It put about 2 quarts on a hot turbo :P.
