Plumber's son has a DSM that's falling on it's face.
Plumber's son came up to me today, and said he just got a 99' Eclipse w/ a "big garrett turbo" he claimed that falls on it's face at about 4k rpms. He bought the car already "done up". He's suppose to stop by in a bit, I told him i'd look at it today after work, I figured it was getting too much boost for the fuel to compensate for. Probably is a nonturbo motor, w/ non turbo fuel system, and non turbo ecu. not sure yet, i'm hoping the wastegate is either stuck open or the boost controller is turned the wrong way. Sounds to me like he's bought some kids ---- up of a project, but we'll see.

Or the wastegate could be bad

as long as it is a turbo ecu, etc fuel compinsation at 4psi should be no problem at all for a dsm
i was running 22psi on a completely stock fuel system for over 5 months

IT'S A ------- BOOST LEAK! DSM'S HAVE A ------- MASS AIR SENSOR. I GUARANTEE YOU THAT'S WHAT IT IS! THEY GET THEM ALL THE DAMN TIME. CHECK ALL THE COUPLERS. THE BEST THING TO DO WOULD BE A BOOST LEAK TEST. FORCE SOME AIR INTO THE COMPRESSOR OUTLET PIPE AND LISTEN! YOU'LL BE SURPRISED.
