do you have a bov? What kind? Check for leaks around that.
I personally like full boost by at least around 4k because you stay in the power band longer but you dont get a good of a kick as some of the bigger turbos up higher in the rpm band. It just depends on what you like. Some people prefer to have boost at 2-3k and like it like that and some prefer to have boost only from 6-8k.

I'm not sure about faster, but this is how I'll explain it.
If you have your wg hooked up to the compressor housing, the wg will start to crack open as soon as the housing tells it it's getting close to its boost setting, then all the pressure goes through the system and finally into the intake.
If you have your wg hooked to the IM, you are taking a signal right from your intake, so the wg will start to crack open later, after all the pressure has gone through the Intercooler/pipes/ect. Basically, your wastegate is acting based on what the pressure actually is in the IM, not at the compressor housing, so it would seem to spool faster in theory, but I don't know if you'll actually be able to tell.

If the wg starts opening further in the system, it would spool faster, I just don't know if it would be noticeable. The only reason I ever did it is to try to up the boost a couple pounds without ------- with the wastegate.
