Chances are the turbo and manifold are going to be junk. The wastegate and bov might not be too bad but you'll have better luck collecting the parts yourself. Start hitting up the junkyards in your area. I got my turbo and bov from an old volvo and ended up costing me only fifty bucks.

only one turbo comes .48/.60 a/r 60 trim from the factory. It's the Ford 2.3L thunderbird/turbocoupe (and maybe other varations of the same engine)

Of course, since used junkyard turbos from the 80's ALL need a rebuild prior to be re-used anyways , You can pick ANY automotive T3 from a Saab, volvo, renault, peugeot, nissan or mercedes... They usually have a small .42 a/r 40, 45 or 50 trim compressor, and simply send it to any turbo shop to have it rebuilt + upgraded to a t3 .48/.60 60 trim or even a small t3/t4. Some shops are apparently cheaper than others and warranty their work for 6 months. Just Look around.

Do a search to confirm but the turbo coupe was made from 83-88. I believe ford stoped using the garrett 48/60 for 1987/88 and switched over to the ihi which is smaller.

48/60 was also offered on some mercedes too, have no idea which specifc models/years.

Yeah, maybe mercedes did but it'S an odd ball turbo with all kinds of weird flanges. The special edition GNX also had a .60 compressor that's even larger than 60 trim. It's basically a t4 wheel in a t3 housing and a unique carbon seal backplate that's compatibe with nothing else. Pretty rare. and i have one.
