Default People who have SMC +

HI,

I have a D16A6 with a IHI-RHB5 turbo set at 8 psi. i have 450cc DSM injector with the SMC plus. I have a problem with the MAP sensor(maybe too rich so the SMC send more than 3 V) and my oxygen sensor code because my mixture seem to be to rich and the ECU CODE the the oxygen sensor. So my mixture is too rich but on my air/fuel, it's 1 line in the stoich and 2 or 3 line in the rich. it is really dangerous to run in stoich on boost

Thanks

no my o2 sensor is not burned. it just give me a code because i'm running too rich when i'm not in boost.

The problem is maybe that my signal of the map sensor is to high so i have a Cel 3. For this problem i can put a Fuel pressure regulator and decrese the fuel on the SMC.

The other is that my little exit of the TB to the MAP sensor is loose so if i have a link, the ECU can code 3??

Does anybody have other thing

You should get to the bottom of the O2 sensor code first. Are you sure the senor is good?
When running boost you should be rich, even pegged out on the gauge isn't going to hurt anything. From there you need to read the spark plugs or better yet go to a dyno with a wide-band O2.
EGT gauge will read different for each application so take that with a grain of salt. EGT gauge works great after car is dynoed and you know you a/f ratios are good. Then the EGT can be used for a reference.
On my SMC/440cc injector/turbo setup I had to turn the fuel pressure down to around 15-17 psi at idle (vacuum hose connected to fuel pressure reg.) This allowed me a greated range of adjustability with the SMC. Others people have done it different but this is what worked for me. Hope this helps. (when moving the SMC ***** turn a little turn=large change)

Ok so you have a SMC with a Fuel pressure regulator that increase the fuel pressure with boost
Do you have a better fuel pump??

I was thinking to install a Fuel pression regulator but only the one who i can increase my pression and not by my boost.

What are thinking of this??

Thanks

Yes that is what you need. A fuel pressure regulator such as the B&M that replaces your factory fuel pressure regulator so that you can adjust your base fuel pressure. This is what I have. I don't have a Rising rate fuel pressure reglator (FMU) The large injectors and SMC are doing what an FMU would do, adding more fuel when under boost. I am currently running a stock fuel pump. I have an aftermarket pump in the tool box but unless it's needed (I don't think it will be) it's not going in the car.

ok so it's better to install a FPR and increase the pressure and after decrease on the SMC... thanks a lot man, i was thinking that only the SMC will be correct.

Thanks
