pcv for those who used to be like me
i was really worried about the stupid pcv thing for a while. i was gonna buy one off of ebay, but i found something better. i have been talking to oxsleeperxo and he has helped out alot.
so he tracked down this thread from an SRT forum http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97923 he alos gave me this site http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9571 now in my opinion, this is much better then the ghetto pvc pipe setup i have seen, he said he once seen a kid use a pickle jar. so for those facing the same problem i did, this is for you. |
Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
meh I use it and it works as far as I know :P

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
i had a catch can but it was ghetto so i just put back a new pcv valve. aslong as boost doesn't get into the crankcase it's ok. factory turbod' cars have pcv valves in the same location as n/a cars so i think it's aight.

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
i thought the pvc valve will only open at vaccumm..so doesn't that mean pressure would build up in the crank even at low boost?
|
Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
no pressure from the turbo will go in the crankcase cause that pcv valve will close tight when it's not in vaccuume. people use catch cans so oil doesn't get into the intake manifold. when it's in vacuume, in idle and between shifting gears, the vacuume will suck out the vapors from the crank case with a pcv valve. just make sure there's a new pcv valve installed.

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
does anybody know if factory turbo'd cars have the same pcv system as hondas do, or na cars for that matter.?

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
robert, you moron, turbo cars use a diffrent PCV setup foo. The reason why we install catch cans and illiminate the PCV completely is because under boost(or any time) there is blow by past the rings, this builds up, and causes even more blow by, which means, rings get fucked up and you loose power. stop talking if you dont know what you are talking about.

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
look at how that systom works, its alot differently then the honda one ;)

Re:pcv for those who used to be like me
what's so different about it?maybe the location of the pcv valve but it's the same concept. the pcv valve stil closes on boost and opens on vacuume. and it's connected where it receives vapors from the crankcase. just like on any other car. it's also connected where it sees boost, but closes on boost and opens on vacuume.what's so different about it?
