Default PCV catch can causes smoke

I just tinkered around and installed a PCV catch can on my HMT setup---this caused my car to smoke like a --------I took the catch can out and reinstalled my little filter and the pcv valve back onto the manifold and it stopped--I understand white smoke=water inside pistons but what caused the heavy white smoke when I had the catch can? Why doesn't it smoke when routed back to stock?

uhmm maybe the hot oil is too hot for the PVC...it reacts with it...try another material.

The white smoke was caused by burning oil, not water

just bought new one and replaced old one---white smoke=coolant leak somewhere but you're right--i think it is because of oil---it's something weird
