Default Overheating again!

Well, got the turbo on, radiator was cracked so replaced it, replaced thermo, replaced rad. cap. Rad fan works. After about 5 minutes of hard driving it starts to overheat. If I take it easy the guage won't go past 3/4 and if I cruise it stays cool. I drove to work and back without driving it hard and didn't overheat at all.

Water pump?
or could it be that the turbo is so close to the radiator, that after a while it heats it up too much.

I also put some water wetter in it and same results.

Damn that sux! Try running the fan from the battery, Hook it up to a switch or just .... like a said, set it to come on when the car starts. Maybe look into turbo wrap...? Should also help w/ any lag you have.

I've got the fan on a switch.

Anyone else had this probelm? I've got an all metal radiator, could it be that since it's all metal it's getting really hot and not cooling down the water/coolant?

Did you change your timing belt? If you did, your cam timing could be off by 180 degrees. This will affect your ignition timing, and overheating will occur at anytime above cruising speed.

if your running that eg radiator, i hope it is dual core.the single core one would not work for me.so i put a crx dual core radiator in my delsol.that thing don't get near half.plus the turbo and, oil cooler, water lines run to it.

I checked the timing and the timing is on.

I'm not running a half radiator, it's a full size metal one that I got from this guy. No leaks or anything.

Took it out today and got the rest of my exhaust hooked up. After about ten minutes of semi-aggresive driving the temp guage started to rise, so I put on the heat and didn't overheat again (even if I floored it). Sounds to me like it's just that the cooling system isn't up to par with the new turbo. What else could I try besides getting a raceing radiator?

Definately a shitty radiator. Have you looked into the half sized ones at all?

Should I try to get a dual core eg radiator? I don't want to spend more money and then realize that I need a racing radiator to keep up with the temps.
