go with about 9:1 compression and run 20 psi . also buy the wing in my sig for some mad downforce yo, you will need it. i would run some bigger injectors though. your best bet is to look at someone elses setup that runs how you want yours to and copy everything they did, thats my best advice if you are here asking this stuff.

i think its a stupid ideal to do that to the type r and not the gsr..........your paying money for all of they parts in the type r to make it a great n/a car, but then you are taking them all out to turbo it.......and your paying something like 4500 dollars for the type r motor when you could buy a gsr motor for probably 1800-2000 dollars and spend the rest of the 2000-2500 on the build of the gsr and thats on top of the money you already have.......maybe its just me but i think your a dumbshit

Allrite brio, this is the thing, dont hate that im turbo'ing a R. I would agree that it would be stupid if i had payed that much for it. But honostly i got it at a price that most people would consider a good price for a gsr. And it is what i have in my crx rite now, and also, i can't find anyone to trade me a gsr+cash for my type R up here in NW wa. This whole "i think your a dumbshit" ---- is stupid, can you act anything more like a child? i think you belong on turbod16.

goodnight

Re: Opinions on CRX type R turbo build , help!

i would do that if it wernt for the fact that i hate shipping things and i sure as hell am not going to ship a motor, i just dont want the inconvience, that would be what i would do if there was someone within 300 miles on seattle,wa that had a gsr head/block laying around.

well i can't find them on here or HT, someone with gsr head/block and cash laying around?anyone?

FooK 02-03-2006 12:26 AM

Re: Opinions on CRX type R turbo build , help!

all these replies are retarded.

b18c block is a b18c block.

itr head is a nice ported out b16 head with some cams. drop the comp with some rods and pistons and boost the ---- out of it.

sleeves aren't necessary, plenty of people making good power on stock sleeves.

sell your type r motor for some extra change then if you got it for crack head prices, then buy a b18c5 and build it with the money you made from the hype r ;)

Well chances are you're not going to find someone that not only has a GSR setup laying around, but also wants a Hype R in trade. Sell the motor to person "A" and buy the other motor from person "B". I'm sure Josh Ross knows someone around there that wants to buy that ---- from you.....just make sure the money is real. ;)

Re: Opinions on CRX type R turbo build , help!

1 agrees 20 disagree correct it might be almost the same motor but one is 2000 dollars less and it doesnt make sence to built a motor that you can get for 2000 dollars less......SELL THE TYPE R SOMEWHERE
4000 OR SO
BUY A GSR! -2000 OR SO
TAKE THE 2000 EXTRA AND BUILD THE GSR
TURBO THE GSR
SCREAM DOWN ROADS FASTER THAN YOU WOULD IN THE TYPE R
but hey man if you just want the type r so you can say "i's got's the mad jdm type r" than more power to you...

You would have better luck in the for sale forum, not in the middle of the forced induction forum. :l
