open waste gate - still creeps

Re: open waste gate - still creeps
yes the actuator was off
and yes i was building over 12 psi (spooled at like 5500)
i was thinking about tuning with boost creep and using it to my advantage (more hp)
but i dont know if this would be safe considering boost creep is unpredictable
has any one ever done this and had good results

any one have any ideas why or how to fix it?

uh, well think about it..... you have a hole that you cant stick two fingers in and the turbo exhaust houseing, of course its going to naturally follow the path of less resistance. so of course, turbos with a small internal w/g will spike.

ok back to the question about tuneing boost creep what do you guys thing good idea?

Re: open waste gate - still creeps
I recall some DSM genius decided to really max out his 14b when he was about to swap to his new motor/turbo. WIth the gate shut, it spiked to either 22 or 27 psi, then dropped down past 17psi at redline IIRC.
The exact numbers don't matter, the fact is the 14b won't spike all that much, so trying for 12psi on a 22psi MAP sensor and allowing for even 10psi of creep really won't be a big deal. As long as its tuned for it, thats what really makes or breaks that smart idear you have there :1
