Default oil return question

i am placing my turbo with the compressor on the passenger side of the vehicle. My downpip blocks me from putting the oil return in the larger part of the oil pan. I was wondering if i put the return at the top of the shallow part of the pan close to where the rear main side of the pan. i wish i had a picture but i don't. the return line will still be above the oil level just on the shallow part of the pan where the stock exhaust goes.

thanks

Yes, that will work. You may want to use a steel braided line for your return since the downpipe is close to it.

i guess you understand the placement then. I figured as long as the line is all downhill from the turbo and is above the oil line in the pan.

yup, in fact I think in one of my past turbo projects I did for a guy I had to do the oil return in the same spot, I do remember some cutting of the windage tray was needed, but nothing major.
