I'm also running a mech oil gauge but with a copper wire instead of the nylon. I don't remember why I decided to go with this instead of the electrical but so far it's been good*crosses fingers*.

my mech oil gauge is on its way, does a mech oil gauge works in the same way as a boost gauge? meaning the tube will be filled with oil?

no the electric version with the sender works off the electrical signal coming from the unit itsself. A boost gauge is considered a mechanical gauge.

I don't think it actually fills up with oil though, cause unless you fill it up with oil initially, it's going to have air in the line. I'm guessing this is also why mech. oil guages aren't very accurate, cause air compresses differently then oil. Anyone back this up? I'm just guessing.
