Oil Line Backpressure?
long story short: I bought a turbo, i installed it, it leaked out the exhaust side. I bought new bearings which the guy at the turbo shop said would fix it. I rebuilt it with some new T4 bearings in my T3 (the guy said they'd work fine), and it still leaked BAD.
I figured that either I sucked at rebuilding turbos or the turbo was just long gone UNTIL I was reading about an install on the new Eddlebrock kit for d16y8. Their oil return line was kinked a bit, and it caused some backpressure so their project car spewed smoke like a bonfire. I didn't think that my line was too bad off, but I don't have much experiance in the area. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

did you replace the o-rings and seals in the turbo when you rebuilt it too? or just the bearings?
(i don't know t3's very well, so bear with me if i'm way off)
yeah, a kinked return line could cause backpressure and smoke, but it's unlikely, what's the diameter of your drain line? what's the diameter of the inlet on your oil pan? have you tried running thicker oil? have you tried using a needle valve to turn down the pressure?

restriction in your return line will be the death of your turbo. if there is any pressure build up for any reason in the return line, say good bye to your oil seals every time.
i would un kink that line and see what happens.
