yeah, if the turbo is getting too much oil via too large of a feed, or to high oil pressure, it will usually blow by the seals and smoke

no a big line wont matter. its only pressure.

u could have a 1" line to the inlet of your turbo, and only 10 psi in it..

and now that i think of it. if you had a 1" line on your honda. the pressure would actually be less. because the hole in the block is 1/4".

all dependant on flow mind you..

yep bigger line less pressure. smaller line more pressure.
so is it more oil or more pressure that makes the turbo smoke? I read in the facts that some people run a restrictor on their 4an lines to get them to 3an when it gets to the turbo. Wouldn't that make the pressure higher?

pressure, flow volume and hose size are all relative to each other. I was actually thinking about this the other day sittin on the john.. ya ya. shut up.

some questions need to be answered first..

What is the stock oil pressure (idle and not idle) for the turbo being used? (probe (ihi), DSM)

what is the ID of the feed lines on those cars?

try to mimic their setups for trouble free operation.

if the DSM uses same pressures as our cars (hondas) then just get a matching feed line ID. If the DSM uses lower pressures then our cars get a slightly bigger ID feed line.

Im sure there is some actual math that can formulate all this but im not about to try and find out.
