would the oil drain porperly from the turbo if that was the case. the oil is all woooped up and frothy, i think its meant to go straight into the pan.

u could only cool it from the return if the oil cooler is below the turbo. cause its a gravity feed. why not just cool the entire system :P

Its actually not very good to try to tap into the oil return at all, you want a straight shot directly from the turbo to the pan. Its gravity fed, and needs to have a smooth flow. If it gets backed up at all, the turbo can easily smoke.

It would be best to cool the oil before it reached the turbo.

I fed my first turbo this way. Used an oil cooler and ran a T on the return line to feed the turbo. I liked this because the turbo got cooler oil, and by using a T that had 2big & 1 small nipple allowed the turbo to receive less oil pressure than it would if I T'd off the pressure sensor.

Looked it up. A better way to hook up an oil cooler is to get a Sandwich Adapter (#186):

The adapter screws into the hole for the oil filter and then the oil filter screws into the Adapter. There are inlet and outlet holes on the adapter. Just run these to the oil cooler.

can you run the lines from the outlet the sandwich (where the oil filter is) to the inlet of oil cooler and out the oil cooler to inlet of turbo and then the outlet of the turbo to the inlet of the sandwich. do you think is possible or you got to tap in the oil pan.

ive gone through enough ---- with adapters and crap id just buy that sandwich adapter and run a cooler.

how do it work isn't the adapter pressurize and will the pressure will push the oil threw the oil cooler and turbo and back up threw the adapter. any thoughts.

I just thought of something really cool. If they made a slightly small oil cooler that could fit inside the box compartment where the old "intake resonator" use to sit, that would be great. I've cut out that little plastic piece on the front bumper so air comes in (this was for my custom cold air intake at the time). This would be my location of an oil cooler. I may consider doing this if I can find a smaller oil cooler (hey, it's better than none).
