obx wastegate springs. what psi are they???
the first ****** who tells me to search is going to get a bleach big gulp and a huge iron fist to fist there mom
i got this obx 38mm wastegate and i noticed it came with 2 springs. being the great obx, the instructions dident list anything about the springs, no did there website. anyways, when i opened the wastegate cap there was a 3rd spring already installed. the one installed was not marked, the other two i belive had yellow and red paint tabs on the bottom. i been looking around different sites/google but i can get a straight answer on what these spring are reated for. i dont plan on running more than 9 psi on my d mini me. so ill prob just keep the one that was already installed and watch the gaguege with my manual boost contorler

Re: obx wastegate springs. what psi are they???
for a start, using the lowest one with a proper two way boost control system can get you pretty much any boost you want. secondly, if eville is correct, and he probably is, you would want to use the one thats closest to the minimum boost you want because you can only turn it up from there, not down.
you could always do what i did and measure and calculate based on spring rates, weights, compressed length when seated etc etc etc..
mine was unmarked and i calculated and measured 18.2psi, i got 17.5psi after the cooler with the gate wrongly plumbed to the plenum. there may have been a psi or so lost across the intercooler, so looks like my calculations were bang on ;-)
