Default O2 sensor disconnected?

Well the turbo is in and sounds great. I've only driven it once since i got it put on (raining like a bitch around here). Well, on my manifold I have the stock eclipse O2 sensor still up there and not connected so when I cut my car on a CEL comes up because of course the O2 isnt hooked up. Is it ok to drive without the sensor hooked up? From what I understand, if it's not hooked up my ECU will just give it a ton of fuel, is that right? I'll probably get it hooked back up thurs but is it ok to drive until then?

the ecu will go into a limp mode and run on preset fuel tables, should be alright for a little bit but i wouldnt run to long like that

Drive it as little as you can, my motor blew up when the ECU went into safe mode because of a CEL from boost in the MAP sensor.

I know it goes to the preset fuel tables, but does that really matter since I'm controlling the fuel with the AFC anyway? I figured I could drive it as long as I had my AFC setup right. Just a theory. Plan on getting it hooked up as soon as can. What do you think about the AFC thing though?

..if the ECU sees no signal from the 02 it may just ignore the other readings..plus it constantly reads and adjusts to that signal..it may work with the AFC to run but even on preset levels would not be working correctly..just be safe and get it hooked up

when the ECU is in safe mode it doesn't use boolean scenarios the entire rev band is pre-programmed in emergency mode to dump alot of fuel in without choking the car to death. So an AFC will not make a difference, as the ECU is not reading MAP signal to adjust fuel with.

ok.. can you rev the car past 3k RPM? if yes, its NOT in limp mode. Second. The ecu doesnt read the O2 sensor when you give it WOT (floor it). SO just floor it all the time nad you'll be ok! LOL

I'd fix it, if its just disconnected it can't be that hard to fix.

Does the stock DSM O2 sensor plug right up into our O2 connection?
