NPR vitara piston rings material?
finally got my dad to finish boring my block at work today, setup is 75.5mm vitaras, npr rings, ls rods, arp rod bolts w/ a k26 turo trying to make 250whp, a guy at work told me that you hone the block with finer/rougher grit depending on the material of the rings to seat them correctly, which i really dont think makes any difference for my setup but I was trying to see if anyone knew the exact material of npr rings that go with the ycp vitaras which I got from fjt on ebay. its either cast iron or nitrated steel from what I found online or a combination of both, really just trying to see what you guys use to hone, most likely i will just use my 220 grit hone and be done with it. Also what do you guys think of npr rings compared to hastings?

i think i have found enough info to say the top ring is crome and the second is cast iron. im just going to use the 220 grit hone i have and that the hone grit is not that big of a deal unless the wall is too smooth and i wont have a problem with that , thanks for the input
what are you trying to machine? and im sorry for you having to work around a haas-the one we have at work is straight up the biggest piece of ----, hell the 20 year old mat 500 gets better results
