Default Not a n00b question...buuuut Turbo help :(

ok, so i know i sound like an ------- asking a question that pretty much every newbie asks, but FAK, i'm stuck, i don't wanna keep switching turbos...everyones opinion is needed here...
i just can't decide what turbo to choose...
i've gone from 14bs, to T-25s, to T3s, to small ihi turbos...
my application needs about 5-7 psi...maybe more eventually...
what would be the quickest spooling turbo that's good for that amount of boost?

What engine? I'm kinda in the same boat. I have a 99 Si and i will be running roughly 6psi.

I went from a 14B, only to find i can't get a manifold for it and keep AC

I went to T3, which some people like, but many say it's too small.

IHI RHB5 is too small.

Now the only logical choice there left is a T3/T4 hybrid. Everyone seems to favor these. But these are not cheap like the T3s and whatnot. So I may give in and get a T3/T4.

Last question, what good T3 turbos would be good for a B16? I know the .42 compressor and .48 turbine seems too small, but what a T3 with an AR of .63 ? Would that be good for a b16?

it's for d series engines...
i'll be switching them on and off different ones...i don't mind the small turbos, i'm just looking for one that spools fast and gives me full boost quickly.

I will make it simple, whatever turbo you get the cheapest, they are all about the same, the 14b flows more at a higher rpm, but if you just have a stock d-series you would be happy with any of them.

People make this ---- so complicated when it really isnt.

Well their is over 75 t3 turbos, would you be a bit more specific?

The T25 and a smaller T3 spools about the same.

The IHI, is probably the fastest, its set at 8psi too.

T25 and 14b have wastegates set at 8psi. Lots of t3's are set like that as well. But their are some 5-6psi wastegates out their on T-3's.. possible from volvo's/chryslers and other cars.
