Do you mean like a kill switch for drag racing? Those usually cut ignition, there's also a switch to a solenoid to cut fuel but you can't exactly just "pull it off".

That's full on piston destruction, too many rpms = spring can't hold the valve against the follower/lobe/rocker/what have you and the keepers jump ship. Is that what you meant to tell me?
