Default noob help!!...turbo postion

i have a 98 civic ex and i just installed the turbo and was wanting to know if it was postioned right...heres a pic

You can only mount it two ways. The way you have pictured or rotated 180* in the horizontal plane (space permitting). As long as the turbo will clear the block and other components and have enough room to squeeze a downpipe in, it doesn't matter which way you mount it. You can shave a little off the block if necessary.

You have to decide which way you prefer. Will one way be A/C compatible? Which will allow for easier charge pipe and downpipe fabrication? When making these decisions don't forget that the housings can be clocked. Clock the compressor housing to get the compressor outlet where you want it and clock the turbine housing to get the oil feed within 10* or so of vertical.
