No t-stat? will that hurt my motor?

Re:No t-stat? will that hurt my motor?
no, won't hurt anything.
the actual problem that it causes is that the car doesn't heat up to proper operating temperature thus on a quick 15 minute drive the engine won't reach it's proper temperature. When buying a new car you can pull the oil cap off and look for a milky white type ---- on the underside, that is caused by the car not reaching the normal temperature.. thus signaling that the car is a very short commuter car, not good for long term engine wear.
the fact that you are overheating I would suggest you ride without that bitch until you get the problem solved. The fact that you're turbo I would suggest getting a lower temp one.
hope my advice helps.

my car is having overheating issues and I got the bright idea from someone ^^^^ to take out the thermo but it only made it overheat faster. I really don't know what that means but "I told ya so." :P

get a ac fan out of the junkyard and wire it into the regualr fan wirig and thell both turn on at the same time..and 2 times the cooling.. and i got a 4dr radiator in my car and it runs below normal " temp that is"

well, I drove around today w/o the t-stat and the car feels a lil cooler, and it didn't overheat during traffic. I dunno it can be the rather cool 70 deg. weather today, but anyhow it seem too work. I'll slap that t-stat back on in the winter time so my car will warm up faster. But thanks for the advice. Oh yeah i'm using the civic half-size radiator, dunno if that will affect cooling much.

Usally it will heat up more without a t-stat because the water flow too fast throught the system and dosn't get a chance to cool off in the rad or soak up the heat from the block. You can rip the center out of the t-stat leaving the outside ring to act as a restricker.

Re:No t-stat? will that hurt my motor?
I agree, I dunno i'll see what happens. summer is almost over with, Lol. I can't use my full-size teg radiator cause of my 14b charge pipe is in the way. I'm too lazy too clock it and make another piece of pipe and re-route it. I thought about this, But what if I just hook up a switch too the fan and control it manually? is that bad? having fan on all times when i'm in traffic, and shutting it off and let it turn on to its normal operation when on highway? let me know what u think guys. Oh yeah I don't know how too hook wire up too fan and controll it if anyone knows let me know.

if that's what you want to do then it's simple dude.
First thing you need to do is find the power that goes to the fan, unplug the batt and cut the power wire.
Next I would run a 3 way selector switch in the dash. One other manual on/off switch might be necessary (if you want).
Have the 3 way switch connect to the fan power input on the middle pin. On one side pin have it goto the stock fan power feed in (the one that you cut). The middle of course going to the other side that got cut going from the cut to the fan. Have a 3rd be the manual selection.. either make that constant power or bring in the 2nd switch into the operation. The second switch will just be an on/off style and will have a hot wire feed going to it (tap the fuse box for some power, maybe the cig lighter).
Does any of this make sense to you? I suppose I could whip something up in paint if you need a viz aid.
