"300 homemade style"? You can buy a used REAL kit for that and not have to worry about jetting and reliability.

you can make your own. it'd be ghetto but probably would work.

you need one jet for nitrious, and one jet for gas.

you plumb the extra gas and nitirous into the intake somehow. you can buy holly nitrious jets from a car parts store... when you trip the solinoid or whatever the extra gas and nitrious would go into the intake... it wouldn't be hard to tune because you could just buy a 50 shot nitrious jet and it would come with a jet for the correct amount of extra gas.

nitrious is not forced induction really. but with the nitrious in there you can cram extra gas into each cyclinder making the engine think its bigger than it really easy... just like turbo/superchargers.

mine is ghetto rigged. got it dirt cheap... its very basic.. if you get the bottle somewhere you can buy the rest of the crap on ebay, build it yourself for under 200$

*Bottle
*Bottle to 4AN adapter
*Bottle Gauge
*10-15ft of 4AN Hose (nylon)
*2-4ft 4AN hose
*Solenoid
*Fan Spray Nozzle (60-75 shot)

pretty muched did this on my 94 civic ex.. put the bottle in the trunk. ran the line next to my Amp cables on the passenger side. Ran it through the firewall under the battery, hooked up the 15 ft hose to the Solenoid, then hooked up a 2 foot line to the solenoid and at the end of it put in the fan spray nozzle with a 65 shot jet.
drilled a hole to my intake pipe and put some JB weld to hold the nozzle in place. primmed the intake pipe and all the hoses lines and solenoids flat black and then wrapped black wire loom on all the NOS lines. Made it a sleeper kit and to top that ---- off the switch is the horn buttons on the steering wheel. Cut the horn cables and plugged them into the solenoid wires. everytime you honk your *** is off...

using an SAFC and AEM Adjustable FPR to give it a little more juice so the engine dont blow.

yes i know 300 is a overestimate but thats a guess how much it would cost thru jet tunning and ---- one thing tho i was wondering where you would tap your fuel for a wet kit.. wet nitrous sounds a little more easier/cheaper than a dry nitrous setup

Tell your cousing to stay on the turbo path...in the long run NOS will be more expensive...if you drive like me.
If I had NOS I would have to fill up the bottle every 2 to 3 days. and that would be a lot of money.
Turbo on the other hand is free power and you always have it..don't need to push a button and don't need to fill up anything. NOS ain't forced induction buddy, but they come down to the same thing...cram more oxygen into the engine and add more fuel...bigger explosion..more power....HomemadeNOS seems interesting and fun..I might try that on a friends car...hahahahahaha.

yes i know nitrous gets expesive on filling it but he has a budget of 1000 +/- 500. Nitrous seems a bit more safer and easier to tune. Besides he needs to get his mini me running which brings me to the next question can a car without a vtec comp or rpm activated switch run vtec with a vafc?

NOS is like one time use power. need power press the button. Turbo would work better for overall power. u can go turbo for 1g. Take a look at the classifides section.

if he has only 1000 +/- 500 he gunna go through that quick for a bottle refill.

NOS is just as, if not maybe more dangerous then turbo. First, if u get in an accident and the bottle gets punctured then BOOM. Second. You won't be doing a direct port kit so you run the change of going lean in one or more cylinders. The honda intake manifold was designed to distribute air. Not air w/ liquid in it. Sport compact car did a wet fogger kit and blew up their CRX engine. had to rebuild the valves and 1 piston, on there FIRST dyno run.
