Default New School Vs Old School

Howdy all. Let me get to the point.

I am from the old school trail of thought. old car, light body, small cc's(14-1600cc),Huge Turbo, Massive Intercooler,Big Exhaust, and i have been racing alot of these new school car's (Bigger CC's 2000cc 4cyl / 2500 5cyl turbo) all the mods they run upgrade exhaust, airlfilter, chip/Remapped Software and there cars are pushing out very good numbers but more to the point they out accelerat me /open such a big gap i cant close it over a quatermile, i thought i would catch them on the half mile also but that didnt happen either

So what is the story now? or am i just beeing out classed by the bigger cc's?.

attached are some Power figures for cars that are 2007/8 . Even one of me crew with a 400bhp calibra turbo(t61) got beat buy one of these New school kids with daddy's money(and he running low 13's)
Or is his power coming into LATE?

all these above figures are OTW, and they are the ones who are most competitive on the street at the moment and as per the Links you can see they are running standerd turbo's.

How do i smake these ******* to the kerb?

So its pretty much a debate about this Vs this

VS

Both cars are making the same power but Usable power is winning the races...so much for peak power right...

What the ---- are you asking?

Yes you can get more power from an inherently bigger engine. No you can't magic more air into your tiny piece of ---- engine, you running 10psi isn't going to be the same as the bigger displacement engine sucking down 10psi worth of air, as well as probably having a more efficiently sized (larger) turbo charger because there's more air to turn it.

There is no replacement for displacement.

Don't start yammering about how psi is worthless and you should be talking in CFM, the flow of your motor is directly proportional to the amount of air it displaces, efficiently filling the cylinder will let you flow a higher volume of air at a slower pace but that still doesn't make up for the fact that you have a **** small engine.

This latest wave of noobs makes me want to go on a firing rampage. Seriously sometimes I wish I had an unclipped MAC-10 at all times.

I lol'ed . BTW to the OP sometimes "power" is over rate; case in point is on the front page.

Smaller cc's is boosting 30psi and the bigger cc's is boosting 14.7.

I thought the 30psi would triumph over the 14.7
