whats up all...my friend kurt refered me to this killer site...ok ive got a 97 dodge neon...exhaust, iceman cai so far...well i want to kick some ass so i thinkin about givin her some boost...does anybody on here have a turbocharged neon?? if so give me some pointers...thnx alot

Couldn't be too much differnet from a Honda. ;) I'm sure they sell kits for them so a manifold shouldn't be hard to come by. I'm not sure if anybody here has a turbo Neon???? ???

yea i believe the most common is by hahn racecraft (www.modernperformance.com)...but i dont know if i can pick up the manifold stand alone...im new to turbos..i know what they do and somewhat how they work and for the past hour ive been studying up...i want to make a killer setup thatll blow away some ricers around my area...

just the basic layout of a turbo system...like the inlets and outlets...lol not to change the subject or anything i had a dream last night that i put a t4 on my neon and the fins got all bent and it wasnt pushing air anymore...anyways..any links or ---- that u could supply me with would be greatly appreciated...im lookin for a small setup...fast spool up times with good top end power...i cant run tons of boost tho because the motor is gettin tired....

Hey, I know you said it was a dream and all, but a T4 would be too big for your neon. Especially since your looking for a small setup and a quick spool. What motor does your neon have? (sorry, I'm not a dodge guy).

lol i know it was toooooo ------- big so i was like what the ---- in the dream....anyways....sohc 2.0 with about 101,000 miles on it...new head gasket (neons are prone to head gasket problems) somewhat new timing belt...all new belts and pulleys...minor weight redux...iceman cai....2.5 inch back to a obx bomber, 4 inch outlet....ar 16" with cooper cobras....2 rockford fosgate punch subs...custom short throw shifter...some neons and stobes...here damnit ill just post a pic...by the end of the month it will have a cf hood with a reverse vent (modernperformance.com) and a ed blits type front bumper...and the rims are getting powder coated white to match the graphics....

i can get you the turbo that the hahn kit come with real cheap from my friend....its a special super 16g that has a t3 flange...is your neon dohc?

the turbo doesnt matter for the sohc or dohc...it the manifold...i think he said 400 for the turbo...its 650 from hahn i think and this one only has 1,000 miles on it

he's using the manifold (its different for your car anyway)..he just upgraded to a bigger (20g) turbo...as for an ic...i have a big core im about to cut down into smaller ones(need to get endtanks made) and my friend has one of tyrus' ic's that has a little dent in it froma possum...om me so we dont keep posting here

nice altezzas and fart pipe pimpin, anyway ya you can turbo a neon buy you will have to take those taillights and tail pipe off. otherwise your bypass valve wont open and your engine will blow from over boosting.

Doesnt your engine share the same platform as the eclipse engine? I could have sworn it does. If so you could just hit up a dsm setup and it wont cost you an arm and a leg. I'm pretty sure your engine is in the same family as the eclipse though.

I have a video of a street Neoen running low 10's. I'll try to post it later. They can be just as fast as anything. I have heard those blocks are bulletproof.

yea....problems with long term top end reliability tho....especially the damn head gasket...mine motor is starting to get tired and my friend nate has a 98 dohc rt 2.0 motor if i need one...do u think with about 101 k on it the turbo would be nonsense??? im guessing i would not be able to run tons of boost

i know bro...those damn hondas are solid as all ----...i wanted to get a hatch back like...92-98 maybe or the new si's..oh well...im stuck with the piece of ---- for now...lol oh yea..i got chased tonight by a girl with short arms that we call t-rex...the mother fuckers tried to block me in but i slipped through and wasted their asses...oh man i was scared as ----...and now my ------- window is busted...the window doesnt go up and it busted off the mechanism inside for the outside door handle..so now i have to open my ------- car from the inside....annnnd prom is tomorrow and i have to haul my gf around in that pos...annnnnd my passenger side door is broke tooooo becuase of my bitch ass ex gf so i duno how im gonna get into my car because neither doors open from the outside.....jesus christ

my friend has a neon & is putting a turbo on it soon, he's getting a custom made header though. he'll be using a t25. i'll post pics, he should have the turbo installed by july 4th.

How much horsepower do you know mine has stock the 2.0L Dohc??? i think its got around 150hp... im not sure... if i put the turbo and ---- in it how much more hp do yo think it would spit out????

hell yea...tell me where he gets the manifold made at and how much...thats the only thing holding me up right now...medrow ur car makes like 150 atw and with a good turbo setup it would easily put u over 200, about 230 or 240 with an ic

I was talking about an iceman cold air intake system... I dont have a boosted car yet i wanna get a turbo in my car though... I'm not a troll.. What kind of lights should i get for my car besides altezzas.... ???

If you are planning on puting a turbo on your car don't waist your money on an intake. An intake is about $200 which could be a big chunk of your turbo kit. You could take that $200 and buy a manifold.

As for the tails, I don't know what is available for Neons, but Honda has several different options besides al-cheezas. Why not just keep your stock tails and put that money towards the turbo? I'm not trying to tell you where to spend your money, but its just not practical to buy a CAI when you are planning on buying a turbo.
