New to boosting, what do I do?
I read the most FAQ section but, I didn't really find anything relating to my question.
I have a 99' Civic Si, B20Vtec, turbo.
I got the car as a trade, the guy took the AEM EMS, Man. boost controller, AEM wide band controller, FPR.
Here is a little info on what I have as far as a turbo kit.......
-Gsr head that has been flow benched with Rev hard stainless stel valves, dual valve springs intake and exhaust, and Titanium retainers
-Precision GT32E turbo
-ERL turbo manifold
-Tial 38mm wastegate
-Turbonetic blow off valve
-Full siz intercooler 3" in and out
-2 1/2 in intercooler piping
-3" exhaust from down pipe back
-AEBS intake manifold tapped for direct port nitrous
-MSD extreme power dist. cap and wires
-Aerospeed adjustable cam gears
-Type r oil pump
-ls water pump
I have a stock P72 ecu right now, now my question is What do need and how can I run boost safely without having a AEM EMS, Hondata, Uberdata, etc......I know that it can be done but I don't know how, I've done all motor cars up till now. Any help would be great.

why wouldnt you wanna use a chipped ecu believe me there is cheaper solutions than a aem ems, or hondata, theres crome and uberdata. theres nothing wrong with fmu if boosting at low pressure but nothing beats a programmable ecu.

If that car is a b20 block with a v-tech head, it's not going to live long at all regardless of your tuning. The sleeves in the b20 are too thin to handle boost reliably at all. Unless the block has been built. (Sleeved, I mean)

I did answer your question wise ***, you wanted to know if you could run boost safely, and I answered it, NO, you can't! If the block is sleeved you need to put that info in your decription. Don't ask me for anymore help...
