Never installed turbo oil leak
Hi guys I'm new here and got a question about
A new never installed turbo. It's a t3/t4. AR .48.
I noticed a little bit of oil on the air outlet side.
You can it's brand new cause it looks it and it still
Has the plastic plugs for the oil inlet and outlet
And the cover over the turbine. Any feed back would
Be greatly appreciated

I don't know if your car already had a turbo, but i ran into oil leak problems on my turbo conversion. In my case, I'm running a T2 on a 3 cyl 0.8 engine and I found out that adding a turbo dropped my idle significantly, to the point where the T2 wouldn't spin fast enough in order to eliminate all of the oil it got.
What I did was raise the idle from the throttle body until it matched stock (950 rpm) the upped it another 50 rmp. Also, make sure your return line is at the most vertical angle possible (or use a scavenge pump if your turbo stands in an awkward position). If all that is good, a few drops towards the intercooler on a long run is considered normal.
Also take in consideration that even if the turbo looks brand new, if it has been stored in a high moisture environment over a longer period of time, the seals might deteriorate. (case and point, pulled a turbo from a car in perfect working condition, stored it over winter in a non-heated garage, for the next use I had to buy a repair kit because it was leaking).
Hope this helps with figuring out what's wrong with your T3/T4.
