Re:needle vavle -question....
the hand over the sink doesnt work becouse your blocking the water flow completely.
The oil is flowing. Its going through the turbo and into the drain.
Its not as much to adjust pressure as it is to adjust flow.the less flow, the less pressure becouse the oil i bleeding out of the turbo through the drain.

Oh ----, this thread just got funny.
I'm confused now because I can't figure out if that will work or not. The oil pressure sensor works without releasing pressure, so why wouldn't this?
Someone go ------- try it so I can sleep tonight.

Re:needle vavle -question....
oil pressure sensor works without releasing pressure becuase its reading the base pressure... now if you were to make the line goin to the senor smaller, it wouldnt read any less pressure as if the line was 2"id. 2"id or 1/16"id, doesnt matter in pressure if there is nowhere for it to escape to. cuz as soon as that line fills up, its still going to try and push more oil in because the pressure on the otehr side is greater. it will force more in until the pressure on both sides is equal... once again proving that there needs to be somewhere for the oil to escape to in order to make a restrictor cut down pressure...otehrwise it'd just add up till it was equal. the restrictor works on the turbo because that oil has somewhere to escape to (the drainline) now cap that and assuming the seals wouldnt blow out, and the pressure would then equal that of b4 the valve..now with a gauge directly at the end, theres nowhere for that oil to escape to, thats why the gauge needs to be tee'd into the line..so theres somewher for the oil to escape to (turbo and drain line).... follow me yet?

Re:needle vavle -question....
right, stelth is sayin you can put the gauge directly at the end and get an accurate reading...im saying you cannot because it will thejn equal the same as b4 the valve since there is nowhere in the gague for the oil to escape to...it must be tee'd so it can still escape and read that pressure...try it... hook up and needle valve directly to a gauge... look at it. the gauge will read the same no matter how far open or closed the valve is...alls your doing my closing the valve is makeing that hose to the gauge smaller which does not change pressure since it cannot escape anywhere

I think you might be right. Damn you and your logical thinking. :P
So we would have to tee off the fitting somehow. Damn, that requires too much thought for me.

Re:needle vavle -question....
ya know alls ud really ahve to do is put a 1/8npt tee directly at the end of stealths valve...put a gauge on one part, put the oil supply to the other one... so its not complicated at all or much more work at all really. plus this way u'd always have th gauge there so you could monator and change the valve and pressure at anytime...
