Default Need turbo size opinions.

Well, I can't help myself and have been asked for a Jeep Cherokee turbo kit for the past year by numerous people. I going to throw a kit on my trail rig.

Anywho, its a Jeep Cherokee 4.0 with an auto. I need it to spool nice and low for low end power and rock crawling. Any thoughts on the ebay 57 trims junks? .63 exhaust housing my put me too far up in the rpm. Or the .48 housing may choke it too badly mid way? I don't want to spend good money on a Garrett to find out I made the wrong decision so I am willing to try some CDM ----.

So I would like to know what some of you think. Or if you have experience with the .63/.50 57 trim T3/T4 on a 4.0 liter ish motor.

This is the junk its going on.

Problem is, that Ebay garbage performas absolutely nothing like the Garrett turbo they mimic. I would just go with a good T3/TO4E perhaps something like an SC6031E. 60mm T4 compressor will do you just fine up top and the T31 turbine will deliver great torque and will spool very quick on a 4.0L for sure. I have that exact same turbo from PTE and would sell it, but it's brand spanking new and I don't think you'll wanna drop coin for it lol. I'd trade if you had something though. Anyway, my point is that a t3/t4 with a fairly large compressor and the stage 3 turbine should give you good power down low where you want it, but won't fall on its face instantly on the big straight 6.

.48 should spool pretty fast for nice low-end.
i doubt it will choke.
but a .63 is hardly any bigger in spool time if you decide to upgrade.
example on a d-series is about 500 rpm,s difference in full boost between the 2 exhausts.

Agreed...you're not going to be able to rev much past 5k on them. I'd worry more about bottom end torque.
