Default Need some advice for turboing my GTP

I don't really need too much info, just 1 question.

First the car:

-98 GTP, has supercharger, they are gay so it's coming off and I'm turboing it..many people are doing this, very well proven.
-3" downpipe to 4" exhaust after the cat already installed on the car
-Tuning will be taken care of by a local tuner so that's a non issue
-3.8L V6

I'm trying to find a turbo to use, I was looking for something cheap since I don't really want to spend too much. I'm trying to find a Holset but it's damn hard to find a decent HX35 without a huge exhaust turbine.

If I can't find one, would it really be bad to do a twin turbo with a couple T3's? I know it might not be optimal but would it work? It works on a 5.0 stang, sure it's 1.2L and 2 cyl. more but would it be ok on a V6 as well?

My car is currently sleeping for winter and I'm trying to find parts in the meantime.

Id rock a Holset they are great.Would be great on the 3.8 as i assume you are probably aiming for fairly big numbers hp wise.A pair of T3's would work quite well aslo. What kinda of RPM do you run and what is the hp goal? That is kinda key to deciding on turbo size. From what i understand those bottom ends are quite stout as well are they not?

The GTP bottom end is good for 400whp with good tuning no prob. Tranny is a different story though

I'll be looking for 350-400whp which should be easily attainable, the tranny will be shifting ~6200-6500rpm (I know..so low compared to my civic)

Most guys are runing a 60-1 turbo, here is an example of what one of the kits out there looks like, I would be doing something different a bit but basically same idea.

I would however use a different intake manifold that would have the Throttle Body on the other side so that IC piping would be much easier to route.

But as you can see...all it is is a Y pipe to feed the turbo and some IC piping, pretty damn easy compared to other setup's I have done.

I guess the Holset WOULD be the best, easier for piping etc. as well. I hope a good deal comes up on one soon.

Def go Holset. They are nice to work with as well as most have Vband downpipe flange and they use a standard T3 flange.I would start by looking through all the Diesel forums etc. They can be had for cheap if you hunt around alot. Those GTP can be a nasty surprise to run into.

Thanks for the advice

My car now runs 13.902 @ 100mph with just a few mods with the blower but getting it to low 12's or 11's with the M90 blower is tough, with the turbo is much easier and cheaper.

Diesel Forums here I come.
