Default Need replacement turbo

I'm not sure exactly which turbo this is because it was on the car when I bought it, but the cast is craking in three places so it's time for a new one. I would like to keep the same style turbo with the external wastegate port on the turbo itself, this way I don't have to change any of my setup.

Obvisouly it's a Garrett .42 but I don't know what size the exhaust side is. Does anyone know where I can order a new one of these online? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Notice the cracks around the wastegate port...

whats wrong with the turbo other than the cracks? you will find that it is normal for it to crack there but it will not harm the operation of the turbo. they will usually crack on both sides of the wastegate port and also down the center upper portion if your looking from the inlet. when the turbo gets up to temprature it will seal back up and work fine. but if you would like to upgrade I have a t3 60trim/ with a .63 a/r housing. and if you lookin on the inside of the turbine housing(where it bolts up to the manifold) it will say .48 or .63 the turbo came off my car. it did not smoke and it has normal shaft play(who ever tells you a turbo has no shaft play is lieing unless they have pressurized oil attached or ball bearing) but there is no axil(thrust aka in and out play) but there should be. side to side play is normal with no oil pressure as long as its not excessive.

Nothing wrong with it other then the cracks, it does have a little shaft play but nothing exxcessive. One of the cracks is going up the inlet like you mentioned. I'll have to check for the number stamped on the inside of the turbine housing.

Thanks for the offor on your turbo, but I think a 60trim .63 a/r would be a little big for my stock D16Y8 running at 7-8psi ?

Do you know if a lot of the Garrett turbos have the wastegate ports on the turbo itself, just what my options are.

Thanks

personally if you satisfied with your turbo I'd continue to run it. seems like nothing is wrong with it. the cracks arent going to effect performance at all. and I don't think a 60/63 is too big at all. should pull quite well. granted it will be a little laggy compared to what you have but I put a .48/60 on a y7 and it's quicker than most of the b-series with bolt on's up here. still very mild tune. no wb tune yet and only 6psi. as long as you have the fuel for it a 60/63 would work great.

the cracks aren't that bad but if you want you could just replace the exhaust hpusing

Well it's leaking oil now too so I'm just going to replace this bitch. Anyone know where I can buy one online for a half decent price, want to get one with the same 5 bolt setup for the downpipe. Let me know.

Thanks

I have something you might be intirested in.

Its a .42/.48 Garrett with a completely seperate WG outlet. The two outlets could actually be combined like a normal turbo with an 8-bolt flange (Ive never seen one). If you can weld this should be no problem.

Heres a pic so you can see what I'm sayin-

Turbo was recently rebuilt and didnt see too many miles after that (I baught it that way & never used it).

If you are intirested give me a PM. I'll give you a good price on it.
