Default need help with b.o.v

i have a stock 88-89 supra b.o.v.well i mounted it and, it don't blow off at all.when i ran a vac.line to it you can hear it go thunk but it stays open even at a little bit of rpms.i mean it don't make a sound.you can feel air blowing threw it even at low idle. when i take the vac. sorce off of it nothing goes through. am i not installing it right?also at high rpms my turbo makes a weird turkey sound.is the vac sorce to much?

its a 14b,hf man.,stock wastegate,y8 intake,y8 head y7 block.

Might be a bunk BOV. Maybe you should just try going to the junkyard and picking a saab BOV and see how it works. You really shouldnt hear the BOV go thunk.

I have a supra bov as well and mine is very quiet.

get a bosch one from autozone. its really cheap and it works and its new.

yeah, the bosch are OK, try not to go over 12 psi tho. It's called a by-pass valve, should be $30-35. I think they are an easy swap with a supra valve. 1" inlet and outlet

They've got to work OK, they come on just about every turbo Porsche and Audi from the factory Definitely not for big boost tho.

2g dsm bovs work well on the lower boost side, and are very inexpensive (since everyone wants the 1g ones). I would say go with something cheap to make sure things are working for right now, go with what fits the flange you have. 2g dsm bovs do not have a bolt in flange to them.

Are 1G's supposed to whistle at all?

When I go half throttle and let off, it just hangs open and wwwwwhhhhhiiiiiissssstttttllllleeeeeessss.....


It's really annoying.

you can pick up a BOV off a probe at the junkyard for about $5-$10 they don't sound to bad, kinda like a loud gush of air. and the turkey noise is backpressure caused from your bov not releasing the built up pressure and it tries to go back into the turbo.
