Default Need a better clutch

Damn I installed another tranny, so I decided to buy a new clutch. I bought one of those Exedy clutches off ebay for $100. Man what a piece of JUNK . It's a brand new clutch and I've broken it in over the last 2 month or so. Yesterday I took her to the track and was expecting a good time slip. Hell No. I ran a 20.0 1/4 mile. That clutch was slippin all the way down the track. It was fine until it started boosting. I'm running 8 psi on a SOHC Vtec and a T3T4. Which clutch should I get? I want one that will hold the pressure but I don't want one that is too grippy to the point where everyday driving will be uncomfortable. Does anybody think it will be ok If I just get a stronger pressure plate since the clutch disc is still new or should I just get a whole new clutch kit?

the clutch you bought was the standard factory replacement clutch made by exedy not a high performance clutch. there was another exedy clutch on ebay for $240 which claims to hold 275-300 hp. that's the one i put in my car this weekend. i stil haven't installed the turbo, will be doing it next week. i'll let you know how it performs. i talked to the people at clutch city in key largo florida which is where i bought my clutch from & they told me the one for $100 is a factory specs replacement & mine which i bought for $240 holds between 275hp & 300hp.

Which Centerforce clutch did you get? Did you get the whole kit? Are you boosting? I think my clutch was fine until the first launch. I luanched it at 3-4000rpms The car jumped up and down a little bit then went. About a third of the way down the track my rpm just went up fast. At first I thought my wheels were spinning out but then I realized it was my clutch. Actually that Exedy clutch is suppose to be a bit stronger than the Factory clutch. I don't think it is even 3/4 as strong as the factory clutch. When I first bought the car with 60k miles on it, my wheels would still chirp in second all stock. Ater the Exedy was installed brand new it wouldn't even chirp at all. JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!!

if you paid $100 then you bought the exedy factory replacement clutch, not the hi performance one. the hi performance one cost $240 & it holds between 275 & 300 hp.
