well, if you're gonna be tuning it yourself, and don't know much about tuning, you better get a wb02!! and start reading the engine management forum religiously

well, the guy who is chipping my ecu. is tuning it also! and he just told me. that i don't need to do nothing. except that i would have to adjust the wastegate, BOV, and turbo timer myself. i believe thats what he said!?!

is that true?
thanks

oh, whats a wb02?

well, somewhat. he prolly/hopefully, burned you a .bin on the chip that would run a little rich (safe), but, once the chip is burned, unless you have the software that he used to write it, and a chip burner, you can't tune it any more, and you'll never be able to turn up your boost or get the best a/f ratio possible. it's better to have you're ecu socketed (you can remove and replace chips out of the socket), and buy a chip burner, and use turbo edit software (free), that way you'll be able to tune it better. i'm sure there is a dyno with tuning capabilities somehere near you, you may just not know about it. a wbo2 (wide band 02 sensor), digitally displays you a/f ratio (the whole point of tuning), so that you know exactly how rich or lean you're running. it sounds to me like you need to start reading the "engine management" section, you'll save yourself a lot of money, and a lot of headaches if you study some of that stuff.........

to expect to blow up a b18c1 is just wrong. Tuning isnt that difficult, there is just no room for error on an engine with that high of compression. If the guy you are tuning w/ does not have a wideband(device to accurately display A/F) or a Knocksensor(tells detonation) find another person to tune your ECU. The knock sensor isnt nearly as important as the Wideband. DO NOT TUNE YOUR CAR WITH OUT A WIDEBAND!!!!

yeah, for the most part, it's foreign to me, but you get the basics after a while, enough to burn a base map and drive your *** to the dyno to get it tuned anyways

wooooooooo, that was close, we almost lost that b18c1 to detonation, that will be one more healthy boosted b series on the streets
