Re: my turbo
Take off the damn housing and measure the wheels... ::) Though it looks like a 42/48 from an older saab converted to an ext wg setup.

Re: my turbo
Yep, i eye ball this as a 45 trim T3 .48/.42.
The comp wheel should be 40 mm x 60 mm. at 8-10 psi it's good for barely 200 HP. Not quite enough to make you the king of the road if you know what i mean. ;D http://64.225.76.178/catalog/compmaps/Fig2.gif it has a good turbine side though. standard Stage 1 t3. slight porting in the turbine snail, slap a 60 trim comp side on this and 260-280 HP is possible. |
Re: my turbo
awsome that all i really needed to know, i knew it wasnt anything special,
So this turbo can be beefed up?, where do i find parts for that now, is there write ups? :8 |
Re: my turbo
i think "HMT" is mostly about installing a turbo all by yourself at home using easily found local parts. As far as the turbo itself is concerned, more than just a "write up" is unfortunately needed to properly rebuild or modify one with reliable results. Do you have a turbo or diesel shop locally? They might be able to help you upgrade your turbo. You probably can purchase a used T4 turbo from which you can salvage a good compressor side.
Here's some that i found on ebay ... item 230116276654. 320103213554, 220101628706... |
