Ok I got my brand new TB25 turbo in the mail today. I like it, but the only problem is...it's extremely small. The compressor A/R is .48 and the exhaust is .49 Im just looking to make around 185-190 whp on my stock y8. Can that be done pretty easily with this small of a turbo if I have a Zex stg 2 cam and tune with Crome? I also would really like to hit 13's...how probable is that assuming I can drive pretty good. Here are some pics of the turbo...should I sell it and buy a used t3 or just keep this? If any of you are using this turbo, post your numbers and some pics if you have any. Thanks a lot guys.

I'll probably just keep it. It's about the same size as the DSM t25's and Im pretty sure I can make decent power with it. I just wanna know what you guys think about it as well.

 

i say keep it. if the car is DD you will LOVE the instant spool and torque of the smaller turbo. im running the wrx turbo on my y7/y8 minime. your above mentioned goals are very obtainable with this turbo. you'll need some slix to grab 13's most likely, but evreything else should be good.

 

Hmm...I might. I dunno yet. Im still trying to decide. I don't know where to get everything I need for it. The oil inlets and outlets are weird. Check it out...

 

i also have a tb2531 but mine is a little different oil lines and collent lines are different but i got mine for 25 but it needs new seals and whatnot id say run it and if you dot like it sell it

 

yea that's a good idea except that if I don't like it, I have to get a new turbo, mani, and down pipe....I might be willing to try it out if I could actually find an oil kit for it.

i have a y8 stock with a t25 p28 with uberdata.runing13.5's and 13.2 on a good day.

 

I think that turbo is easily capable or your goals.The only downfall will be when you want more power later[you will] you will have to stay with the T25/T28 style or change everything.That is not the end of the world though you can sell the whole setup and buy a new turbo manifold combo.I would run it as you have it now and i like my old setup with a T25 as it spooled like a ----------er and was great around town for instant boost and acceleration.

 

same exact thing happened to me when i bought my first turbo. i bought a dsm t25 for my b16 and later i find out it's too small and hp would drop above 5k rpm, i sold the t25 and bought a 60 trim t3 now that makes power from 4k upto redline. i'm glad i went bigger. i'd put that turbo on ebay and buy a t3 atleast. if you have the cash buy a t3/t4 it'll be so worth it.

 

Im keeping it I agree with the others that this is fine for my goals. Im probably doing a swap later so Im just trying to get some good power out of my y8 while I have it. I think this turbo will be fun. Thanks for all the input guys. I really appreciate it.
